EXPECT

Privacy policy

Purpose

EXPECT analyzes product, order, processed return and refund facts to identify recurring expectation gaps. Merchants decide whether to publish a recommendation.

Data minimization

Buyer names, contact details, addresses and payment information are not required. Shopify payloads are reduced to analytical facts. Optional CSV feedback is merchant-provided evidence; remove personal information before uploading.

Processing and providers

The merchant determines the purpose of store data processing. EXPECT operates as a service provider for that analysis. PostgreSQL stores application facts and encrypted transport protects connections. If enabled, OpenAI receives product titles and aggregated evidence to interpret a draft; API response storage is disabled. Optional error reporting receives classified errors without raw merchant payloads.

Retention and removal

Raw analytical records are retained for 12 months by default, subject to merchant settings and plan limits. Aggregated metrics remain while installed. Processed webhook records are kept for 30 days. Uninstall stops API and AI work immediately; background deletion removes the shop data and sessions. Required privacy webhooks support access and redaction requests. Backup recovery must replay deletions before services resume.

Rights and contact

Ask your merchant about buyer data rights. Merchants can access privacy request exports through Data in EXPECT. Contact the service operator for privacy questions.
